More on this story...

The Northern Ireland international defender joined the Foxes in the summer of 2018 for an undisclosed fee from West Bromwich Albion, and has since gone on to make 89 appearances for the Club in all competitions.

He has been a pivotal member of City’s squad since his switch from the Hawthorns, and after committing his future by penning a deal to the end of the 2022/23 season, we take a look at the numbers behind his Premier League career at King Power Stadium.

After signing for the Club in the summer of 2018, Evans made his City debut in a 2-0 Premier League win against Wolves.

While the defender has made 89 appearances in all competitions for the Foxes since joining the Football Club in 2018, 74 of those have come in England’s top flight. Evans made his Premier League debut for the Foxes in a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on 18 August, 2018, while his 50th appearance came in a 2-0 success at Brighton & Hove Albion on 23 November, 2019.

One of Evans' 20 clean sheets in the Premier League for the Foxes came in a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in mid-December.

In the 74 games played for City, Evans has helped his side register 20 shutouts, with 11 of those coming during the 2019/20 campaign, in which he featured in every Premier League game for Leicester. Throughout his entire Premier League career, meanwhile, he has 86 clean sheets in 309 appearances.

359 – Clearances completed

The City No.6 has made 359 clearances in 74 Premier League outings for the Club.

A stalwart in the heart of City’s defence, the 32-year-old’s presence at the back is a valuable one, and that is substantiated by the 359 clearances he has made for the Foxes in only 74 Premier League games.

240 – Aerial battles won

The centre-back is a significant presence in the air, both in defence and attack.

Evans’ prowess in the air is another key area of his game, and the Northern Ireland star’s 240 aerial battles won in the league for Leicester City proves exactly that. His contribution from set-plays, at both ends of the pitch, makes him a huge asset in defence and attack.

416 – Recoveries made

Evans attempts to dispossess Raheem Sterling in City's 5-2 win at Etihad Stadium earlier this season.

His ability to win back possession of the ball has seen him complete 416 recoveries in Foxes colours, with over half of those (230) coming last term, while throughout his Premier League career, he has made 1,660 recoveries in total. For City, meanwhile, he has also completed 86 tackles, and 471 in total.

4,294 – Passes completed

Evans' passing stats have significantly increased since playing under manager Brendan Rodgers.

It’s fair to say that Evans’ passing contribution has significantly increased under manager Brendan Rodgers. In his first season, in which he played 24 games for City, he made 1,029 passes, but in 2019/20, he completed 2,491 in 38 outings. In total, he has made 4,294 passes in 74 Premier League appearances, averaging just over 58 passes per match.

Evans' header against Aston Villa proved to be a memorable one for the Northern Irishman, who helped his side to a 4-1 victory.

While Evans’ defensive attributes have been a notable contribution to City’s play over the past two-and-a-half seasons, he has also found the net twice for his side in the Premier League. His first goal came against Crystal Palace on 23 February, 2019, before a header in a convincing 4-1 success at Aston Villa followed on 8 December, 2019. In addition, he has also netted in the League Cup during a 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park, with City eventually winning 4-2 on penalties.
