The Foxes up the ante in pursuit of goals in the second half at Brentford Community Stadium.

Gerry Taggart said: “It was an excellent second-half performance. That had everything that was probably missing in the first half. Two good goals and the penalty as well. The moves for the two goals in open play really reflected the tempo of the game in that second half. It was greatly increased. Leicester City ended up as deserved 3-1 winners in the end.”

Cengiz Ünder added a composed finish to a slick Leicester move within 60 seconds of the restart.

Iwan Roberts said: “The scene was set right from the beginning in the second half when [Çağlar] Söyüncü comes out from his defensive line, he wins the ball nice and early, and passes it on to [James] Maddison. Maddison draws the defenders towards him and then slips a lovely ball for [Cengiz] Ünder, who finishes superbly. The intensity was higher.”

The visitors took control of the contest in the second half, after initially falling behind.

Matt Elliott said: “I don’t think there was ever a stage where Leicester were particularly nervous. Of course, if you’re 1-0 down at the halfway stage, it’s a little bit of an issue. You’ve got to do something about it and they most certainly did that. They came out a lot more purposeful and with a lot more energy about their game. They clicked into another gear.”

Brendan Rodgers has stated publicly that the Club aspires to win a trophy during his tenure in charge.

Gerry Taggart said: “Like most supporters, Leicester City fans love a good cup run. It’s 50-odd years since they’ve been at an FA Cup Final. It’s probably long overdue and that’s maybe an overstatement, but you’ve got to earn the right to get there, and they definitely showed their class in the second half. It shows you what Leicester are capable of.”

City's No.10 netted his side's third goal during a commanding second-half performance in west London.

Iwan Roberts said: “We spoke about James [Maddison] at half-time. He’d had a lot of the ball, but in deeper positions. You want him higher up the pitch, in and around the opposition’s penalty area, and that’s where he was for the first goals. You want [Youri] Tielemans pulling the strings and that gives Maddison space. It was a perfect start to the half.”

Tielemans runs the show

Belgium international Youri Tielemans skippered Leicester City at Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Matt Elliott said: “Brentford were out of steam with a long way to go in that game. Danny Ward was hardly brought into action at all in the second half, apart from one shot towards the end of the game in the second half. Youri Tielemans was the general out there. He was running the show and was indicative of the better quality that Leicester possessed overall.”
