LCFC Women Display Artistic Skills For Charity
- LCFC Women players painted canvases at Belvoir Drive to help raise money for charity
- Holly Morgan and Ashleigh Plumptre plan to take part in a charity bike ride this summer
- The Foxes pair are raising money for both LUPUS UK and Menphys UK
- To help increase funds, LCFC Women players and staff got creative after training and painted canvases
Ahead of a London to Paris cycling challenge, which they aim to undertake over the summer months, Holly Morgan and Ashleigh Plumptre have so far raised over £2,000 for two charities, as well as creating a raffle to win a signed Leicester City shirt, which totalled £1,000.
The charities are LUPUS UK, dedicated to funding medical research to help find a cure for lupus and Menphys UK, who support young people with disabilities and their families.
Players and staff were busy at work painting canvases following training as Belvoir Drive became a creative hub of artistic work, with Sophie Howard's art voted as the best piece within the group.
To support their team-mates' continued efforts, the team created and showcased some of their own artwork, which also raised a further £425 for the cause.
LCFC Women captain Holly Morgan said: "We would just like to thank you all for participating and purchasing tickets for our charity raffle. All proceeds will go directly to LUPUS UK and Menphys UK.
"The most important thing is that we have been able to raise £1,000 for two very important charities."
Between now and the summer, Morgan and Plumptre will continue preparations up for a long distance bike ride, hoping to cover 315 miles, for both charities.
Manager Jonathan Morgan commented: "The girls did an 'art attack day' where they all painted different pictures. Some of them were fantastic, we've got some really good artists!"
