A league record 11 straight wins see the Foxes continue to top the FA Women's Championship table, with the gap to second-placed Durham now standing at five points.

A goal in each half was enough to secure all three points in Quorn as City remain unbeaten at their home ground in 2020/21, also recording a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the process.

"I think it's brilliant, Morgan told LCFC TV in his post-match interview at Farley Way Stadium. "To get 11 on the bounce is a fantastic achievement at any level for any team. I believe that's the first time that's been done at this level, 11 straight wins in the Championship.

City's top scorer Natasha Flint was at the double in Quorn.

"It's something that we're very proud of, that in such a competitive league we can string together so much consistency like that. The girls are obviously delighted in the changing room at the minute and we're just happy now to get the three points and just look forward now to London City next week.

"I think we were a little bit wasteful in front of goal, in particular in the first half. We had 25 chances or created 25 opportunities in that first half, so that was something we did talk about.

"It's still great to see that we're creating so many opportunities and so many good clear cut opportunities. I think on another day we could have had a few more goals, but it wasn't to be. But again, we got the three points, we've done the job and it just takes us one step closer to our overall goal of the season."

Forward Natasha Flint scored both goals on Sunday afternoon to take her league tally to 15 for the season and Morgan was pleased to see the 24-year-old get back on the scoresheet.

I'm hugely proud of them. Massively pleased because not only have we churned out the victories, we've actually also had such good squad depth.

"Tash is clinical," he continued. "She's decisive and I think anybody would love to have her to be honest from that point of view, so it's great that she got another two.

"It makes the top goalscorer race a little bit more tight at the top, so we'll see how that ends, but it's a fantastic achievement for her and we're happy to see that she's still scoring goals."

The LCFC Women's manager also praised the whole squad for their attitude and consistent performances, helping to create a winning mentality within the group which he hopes can be taken into Sunday's fixture at home to London City Lionesses (2pm BST kick-off).

The Foxes kept another league shutout on Sunday - their eighth of the season.

"I'm hugely proud of them," Morgan added. "I'm massively pleased because not only have we churned out the victories, we've actually also had such good squad depth. There has been numerous people now coming in and out of the team on a regular basis, because obviously the game dictates that.

"But to show that we can have that consistency and the quality still shows through with the players that we use and we've used quite a few this year, it's a fantastic feeling to have. In all honestly, we're very lucky to be blessed with so many brilliant players at the moment.

"The message is still the same. We've said it from day one to today. It's to remain grounded, our feet are firmly on the ground and we'll just take take on London City how we've done with every other game.

"We go in there to win, we want to make sure that we're prepared, we're ready, we're mentally switched on and hopefully we can get those crucial three points next week, so we're looking forward to it."
