The Academy graduate, who joined the Club aged eight, made his Premier League debut before the recent international break after two hugely successful loan spells at Blackpool and Luton Town in the Football League.

Now a member of City's first team squad for the 2021/22 campaign, which also includes European football, Dewsbury-Hall is excited by the prospect of representing the team he followed as a child. Looking back to those early days, he remembered some of the players who inspired him.

Hopefully we can keep progressing and when we find our top level, which I’m sure we will, there aren’t many teams in this league who can handle us.

"When I was at a young age, I remember watching the likes of Matt Oakley and Richie Wellens," the 23-year-old central midfielder told the Manchester City edition of the Club's programme, which will be on sale at King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

"When you’re watching them from the stands, or as a ball boy, you look at them and just think how much you’d love to do that one day. When you’re at that age, you think how amazing it would be to follow in their footsteps and play for the Club in the future.

"Now, it’s surreal that I’ve got the opportunity to do that. It’s crazy looking back at all of those years I spent in the Academy, knowing that I’m at the tip of the iceberg now and in the position to kick on."

CITY Matchday Magazine also includes notes from Chairman Khun Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha and manager Brendan Rodgers, alongside plenty more.

Leicester have won two of their opening three Premier League fixtures this term, but Dewsbury-Hall sees room for improvement from the Foxes as they navigate their way through an increasingly busy fixture schedule over the coming months.

"Two wins from three games is a good return, but I still think we’re yet to reach our best level," the Shepshed-based youngster added. "The fact that we can pick up those results while not being at our best is a big thing for any team in this league.

"Hopefully we can keep progressing and when we find our top level, which I’m sure we will, there aren’t many teams in this league who can handle us. It’s an exciting time to be a Leicester fan. We’ve just had the international break and now we’re raring to go against Manchester City."
