Castagne: Get Back To Our Form

At King Power Stadium, the Foxes came from behind on two occasions as Jamie Vardy struck twice having earlier scored an own goal, while Maxwel Cornet also found the net for the visitors.

Although City delivered several moments of quality, Castagne felt they did not find their rhythm against Sean Dyche’s hard-working Clarets.

“[It was] tough,” Castagne told LCFC TV. “It’s always difficult when you go behind against such a team. They close the game and play long. But we have to do better.

“We can’t give them easy chances and goals like that. We have to be tougher. The Premier League is not easy, but I think we’re shooting ourselves in the foot in the last few weeks, so we have to get back to our form.

“It’s definitely two points lost. We have the same ambitions as last year. We want the three points against every team, and especially at home, we have to do a lot better.

“We’ll work on that. As I said, we need to find our form again, and then we’ll maybe get some wins in a row and get going.

“We’ve seen glimpses, but it’s not like last season. We have a lot of things to work on. We have to say, we created some chances, but it’s difficult. I’m never satisfied and I think the whole team can’t be satisfied with that.”

It’s never easy coming into these kind of games, but as a footballer, you want to play, so it doesn’t matter where you come in. You try to help the team. I tried to do my best, it wasn’t enough.

There was late drama on Filbert Way when former Fox Chris Wood looked to have won the game for his outfit with a last-gasp header, however it was eventually ruled out for offside by VAR.

Castagne recalled: “It was close. I saw a picture. Sometimes, it’s a question of inches. He was in front of me, so even if I stepped behind him, he would head it. I took the chance of jumping to get the offside. Maybe it’s a bit of luck, but it worked, so it’s good.

“Every week, we’re saying that we have character and we’re coming back from 1-0 down and things like that, but we have to be smarter and not go down – start straight in the game. We have character, that’s for sure, but we want points as well.

“It’s never easy coming into these kind of games, but as a footballer, you want to play, so it doesn’t matter where you come in. You try to help the team. I tried to do my best, it wasn’t enough.”
