Maswanhise's Joy After Late West Ham Triumph
- Leicester City's Development Squad defeated West Ham United 2-1 on Monday evening
- Forward Tawanda Maswanhise opened the scoring before Wanya Marcal-Madivadua's late winner
- Maswanhise was thrilled to secure back-to-back victories in Premier League 2 Division 1
- He believes confidence is flowing in the group as they continue to climb the table
The Foxes secured a second successive victory in Premier League 2 Division 1 as Wanya Marcal-Madivadua struck in the 89th minute after Maswanhise's early effort had been equalised by Sonny Perkins for the Hammers. It's a result which elevates City's youngsters up to 10th in the 14-team standings.
The opener, tucked away by Maswanhise, came after a frantic start from the visitors, who pushed West Ham deep into their own territory.
"I'm buzzing, I'm happy to be back on the scoresheet," the 19-year-old told LCFC TV at full-time.
In the week, we had a lot of confidence in the team, so we really thought we could win this game.

"Coach Ben Petty told us that if we trap them high, if we press really high, they'll make mistakes and we got our results. The partnership [with Josh Eppiah] worked really well. Being close to him, I could play off him, and it worked really well."
City went into the clash at Rush Green on the back of a late success over Brighton & Hove Albion at LCFC Training Ground a week earlier and Maswanhise believes confidence is flowing through the Club's Under-23s squad.
"In the week, we had a lot of confidence in the team, so we really thought we could win this game," he added. "The coaches said at half-time just to try not to force things. We played through the midfield and kept our shape and we got the chances. A lot of the balls were over the top and I was getting to them.
Petty: The Lads Were Brilliant
Ben Petty was delighted to see Leicester City's Development Squad take all three points after their battle with West Ham United Under-23s in Premier League 2.
"I was making sure their back four was deep and I got the ball on the inside."
Maswanhise was pleased to see Marcal-Madivadua get on the scoresheet once again and says Leicester's youngsters can approach their next outing, away at Everton on Sunday 6 February (1pm GMT kick-off), with optimism.
"He's in a good position right now," the forward said. "He's high on confidence so well done to him, fair play to him. It's a great way to end a game, it's back-to-back wins, and we're looking forward to Everton next week. Everton will be a challenge, but if we go there with that mentality, we could get another win."
