Thomas Looking To Bounce Back Quickly

Leicester City must remain positive in the pursuit of their first Premier League victory of the season, says left-back Luke Thomas.

- Jadon Sancho's 23rd-minute strike was the difference on Filbert Way
- Luke Thomas says the Foxes need to turn good starts into 90-minute performances

The Academy graduate made his first start of the 2022/23 season on Thursday night, as Jadon Sancho's first-half strike settled the clash at King Power Stadium. It means, after five games, the Foxes are still waiting for a win this term and they currently sit bottom of the table.

"We just spoke in the changing room and we've said that this is a tough one to take tonight," Thomas told LCFC TV. "Obviously, we had the mentality, and as you can see in the second half, we dominated really and maybe should have got a goal or something out of the game.

We were very open and then they've punished us there. That's tough to come back from, conceding that goal, when we were dominating the game.

"In the final third, at the moment, we're just lacking that bit of quality to get the goal. We know that'll come and soon, hopefully, we can fly back up that table.

"We feel like we've had good starts to games throughout the five games we've had so far. Obviously, that goal, I think it's a bit of a soft goal to concede. We were very open and then they've punished us there. That's tough to come back from, conceding that goal, when we were dominating the game."

Turning good starts to games into 90-minute performances is now the priority for City, says Thomas.

"We've got the heart, we want to win games," Leicester's No.33 added. "We don't go out there to lose. We want to win and, obviously, coming out strong in the second half... we were very positive, we were going forward and it was just that goal and we couldn't get it.

We've Got The Heart, Says Thomas

Young full-back Luke Thomas reflects with LCFC TV on Leicester City's 1-0 reverse to Manchester United on Thursday.

"We don't feel like we deserve to be where we are. Obviously, we've had some good starts to games and some positive performances really, but it's about getting those results and that's what the Premier League is about - getting results and being high up in the league.

"It's not coming so far but, hopefully at the weekend against Brighton, we can bounce back, which will be vital for us. It's still early in the season. We've only had five games. There's time to come back and time to get up that table. Sunday is hopefully the time to do that."
