The Sky Bet League 1 side host Tuesday evening’s fourth-round action from Stadium MK (7:45pm kick-off), as City return to action following the FIFA World Cup, which saw seven Foxes squad members out in Qatar during the prestigious global tournament.

Iversen himself was able to take a short period away from LCFC Training Ground, before heading back to Seagrave feeling refreshed and ready to attack the next challenge to come his way.

Recapturing and rebuilding the momentum that saw Brendan Rodgers’ men go on a run of three straight victories and record five wins from six across all competitions is a sentiment shared throughout the dressing room, he revealed.

I’m 100 per cent sure that if we play our game, we can get the tempo in and the speed of our game in.

“I’m really excited,” the Danish shot-stopper told LCFC TV ahead of the game. “It’s been a few long weeks to be fair. We got two weeks off and it was nice to get some time off but with that run we were on in the Premier League, it was really good, so it was a little bit sad to stop the season there. But it’s good to be with the boys.

“We still need to be fit at home so we did a programme the coaches give us, but it’s good to see the family and get a clean head again and be ready to go again now.

“We have to start from tomorrow (Tuesday). We cannot wait a week or two to get that form again. Hopefully we do that. But it’ll be a hard game against a good team.”

The hosts will be hoping to build on a morale-boosting 2-0 league victory away to Portsmouth three days prior to meeting the Foxes, who have not played competitively since 13 November.

Iversen's Excitement As City Action Resumes

Daniel Iversen discusses the winter break and Leicester City's Carabao Cup Fourth Round tie versus MK Dons on Tuesday night. Closed captions available.

While the Dons defeated fellow third-tier Morecambe at home in round three, Leicester beat Newport County having prevailed on penalties at League 2 outfit Stockport County at the previous stage, with Iversen the shootout hero, saving three spot-kicks on debut.

The 25-year-old added: “They’ve got the fitness, the tempo and they won at the weekend, so that could give something to them also, but I’m 100 per cent sure that if we play our game, we can get the tempo in and the speed of our game in.

“I think it will be quite a tough game against MK Dons but I think it will be a different game from Stockport. They will want the ball more. When I played in League 1, they wanted the ball and had some decent players.

“Hopefully we win it in the first 90 minutes this time, that would be the best for me!”
