We Need To Be Better, Says Albrighton

Brennan Johnson hit a brace in the second half to win it for Forest in a game where the Foxes did create clear-cut opportunities. While the home side's first was awarded via VAR, both goals were the result of counter attacks at the City Ground.

Vice-captain Albrighton, who wore the skipper's armband in Nottingham, admitted the mood was downbeat in the changing room afterwards - before going on to provide his assessment of the key moments in the game. Leicester are 15th in the Premier League

"It's not good, but it's what we'd expect," the No.11 told LCFC TV. "I thought we started the game well. The aggression was there. We created a couple of good openings. We felt in a good place going in at half-time and coming out for a second half.

Albrighton's Forest Assessment

Marc Albrighton speaks to LCFC TV after the 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

"But, for whatever reason, I don't think we come out the same in the second half. As soon as they get the goal, it's always an uphill task. We pushed, but we didn't have enough quality on the day.

"It's always a blow the way that [the first goal] was in terms of the VAR. But I think we've got to do better in the build-up to it. We need to be more organised. We knew to expect a counter attack.

"It's what we've looked at, it's on the videos, they're good on the counter attack, so we needed to be better in terms of not letting that happen. We didn't, so I don't think we can have too many complaints there. We need to be better."

Leicester missed two crucial chances in the game and Albrighton admits those opportunities cannot be wasted in City's situation.

"Yes, I think in the situation that we're in, in the position that we're in, we need to take them chances," he explained. "There's a couple of half chances that we had in the second half as well that we need to take.

Short highlights as Leicester City are beaten by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

"But them things seem to always go against you when you're down fighting, but there's no excuses. We need to be better."

It's Brighton & Hove Albion next up for the Foxes at King Power Stadium on Saturday - and Albrighton insists it's all about the points.

"I think we just need to focus on the next game," he said. "The next game is Brighton and we need to make sure that we get the result. Forget everything else... we just need points. In the position that we're in, we need points.

"If you get a performance with it, so be it, but points are the main thing."
