This Weekend - Women’s Football Weekend, England U21s On Filbert Way & Non-League Day

The Barclays Women’s Super League takes centre stage this weekend alongside the England Under-21s' visit to King Power Stadium and Non-League Day.

Despite the absence of Premier League fixtures, the weekend 24-26 March is a busy one in the football calendar, with several events and matches to enjoy in Leicester and beyond.

Women’s Football Weekend will involve LCFC Women's crucial WSL visit to Villa Park to tackle Aston Villa on Sunday (2pm BST kick-off). On Saturday, meanwhile, England's Under-21s are in Leicester to face France Under-21s at King Power Stadium on Saturday (5pm kick-off).

Saturday will also be dedicated nationally to Non-League Day - with a range of games being staged across Leicestershire. Ahead of what promises to be a busy weekend, here's all you need to know...

A crucial WSL fixture takes place at Villa Park on Sunday as LCFC Women continue their quest to retain top-flight status for another season against Aston Villa.

Foxes fans can back Willie Kirk’s side on the road in the Midlands derby, with tickets for the clash away to the Villans currently on sale via Aston Villa’s website.

Played out on Women’s Football Weekend 2023, held during the latest men’s international break, it is designed to celebrate the whole of the women’s domestic game in England.

Closer to home, King Power Stadium will host a special occasion on Saturday as England's Under-21s entertain France in an international friendly.

There is Leicester City involvement, too, with full-back Luke Thomas named in the Young Lions’ squad.

A 5pm kick-off on Filbert Way, tickets remain available to purchase for the game, which will see some of the country’s brightest young talents on show at the home of the Foxes.
