On Saturday, City's first team squad are also out on the training pitches at Lion City Sailors Academy, putting the final touches to their strategy to face Jürgen Klopp's Reds at Singapore National Stadium (10am BST kick-off).

The iconic venue has a domed roof designed to reflect sunlight away from the playing surface, while also allowing airflow to cool the players during matches. Sunday's clash with Liverpool is Leicester's final friendly outing of the summer.

Staged seven days before the Club's Sky Bet Championship curtain-raiser against Coventry City at King Power Stadium, the fixture offers a stern test for Enzo Maresca's side. City's preparations for the new campaign has included encounters with Peterborough United, Northampton Town, OH Leuven and Port FC, the latter during a week-long stay in Bangkok.

It’s a huge test. We face, for me, the best team in the world in terms of transition and pressing.

Training in Singapore has so far involved a combination of gruelling fitness work in searing heat, alongside more technical drills. The day started, though, with Maresca on media duties in Singapore's MacPherson district, alongside Ricardo Pereira.

Speaking to the local media, Maresca said: "It’s a huge test. We face, for me, the best team in the world in terms of transition and pressing. It will be nice and a good test for us and then finally we can then start the season.

"We started less than one month ago. There is big, big, big work to do. We try to keep the ball every time, it doesn’t matter the opponent. Sometimes we’ll do it more, sometimes less. The most important things is the idea that we show day by day."

Ricardo, on the other hand, added: "It’s nice to have a different challenge in pre-season, especially playing different situations or difficulties that we didn’t have in other games. It'll be a good test. For myself and my team-mates, we feel the same, we enjoy the way we’re playing. It’s a learning process."

Sunday's Liverpool match is set to be broadcast for Digital Members on LCFC.com, starting at 9:45am BST.
