A Dream Come True, Says Stolarczyk

- Leicester City sealed a 1-0 win at Huddersfield Town on Saturday
- Those three points put the Foxes up to second in the Sky Bet Championship
- Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk made his league debut for the Club in the victory
- He is proud to have reached that landmark with City

The Polish goalkeeper kept a second successive clean sheet after also starring in the 2-0 Carabao Cup win at Burton Albion on Wednesday. Stephy Madividi's late goal sealed the three points at John Smith's Stadium three days later.

With Mads Hermansen currently out with a minor injury, Enzo Maresca turned to 22-year-old Stolarczyk to be in goal in west Yorkshire. The former Dunfermline Athletic and Hartlepool United loanee is proud to have earned the Manager's faith, while also praising the competitive nature of the goalkeepers' union at the Football Club.

"Personally, it’s always a big thing, making my debut for Leicester City Football Club," he said after the win on Saturday. "I’ve been here since I was 16 so obviously I’ve been working hard for this moment. It’s a proud moment for me and my family and to top it off with a clean sheet is like a dream come true.   

"The competition is massive right now. I’ll just focus on myself, keep the performances, and see where that takes me. There’s still three weeks of the window to go, so anything can happen. Everyone’s just working and pushing each other – Dan [Iversen], Wardy (Danny Ward), Alex [Smithies] and Mads in the GK union.

"The atmosphere in the group is really good and we’ll keep pushing each other."

Stolarczyk and any 'keeper who plays for Maresca's Leicester side will be encouraged to help the team build from the back and it's a role he's enjoying.

"It’s just to help out the team and to find spare men in possession," he explained. "For me, personally, it’s a huge step forward in my development. I’ve never played that style. It’s something new for me, but I do enjoy it and it gets me involved in the game more, so it’s a big thing because it takes me to the next level.

"I’ve thought of myself quite highly, in terms of my feet. I’ve always thought I’m good enough to play with my feet. This is totally different, something totally new to me. We’ll still make mistakes, but that’s going to happen. It’s the process.

"The lads were brilliant again. We put in so much hard work on the training ground. As you can see, it’s a totally different system for any of us. We put in a lot of work and the effect is there. It’s three games, three wins, so we’ve just got to keep it going now."
