The Foxes had to stay patient at King Power Stadium, with Ryan Lowe's visitors keeping the hosts at bay until the hour mark, but Dewsbury-Hall's tidy finish ended their resolve in a top-of-the-table Sky Bet Championship clash.

Kelechi Iheanacho added another soon after, before Dewsbury-Hall's second of the night confirmed a ninth win in 10 second-tier matches for City. Enzo Maresca's men are top of the table, with a two-point gap to second-placed Ipswich Town.

"I’m over the moon," the Academy graduate said during the live Foxes Hub broadcast. "It was a tough game. They had a game plan, which was quite clear, and it took a while for us to break them down. We kept them busy with persistence and then in the end it paid off, so I’m delighted to help the team with the two goals and get the three points.

Dewsbury-Hall: Persistence Paid Off

Double goalscoer Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall dials in live to the Foxes Hub broadcast after Leicester City's 3-0 triumph over Preston North End.

"It’s been a fantastic start, but I’ve said all along how impressive the gaffer’s been since he came in.

"He’s got us playing some really good football. We’re all on the same wavelength and think you’re starting to see that on the pitch against all different styles of teams. The confidence is really high at the moment and we’re just trying to keep that mentality going and keep picking up three points."

On his opening goal, Dewsbury-Hall explained that patience was the order of the day, waiting for the right moment to come.

"It was a bit of a striker’s finish wasn’t it!" he added. "I tried to keep it low so he couldn’t get there. I was waiting for that moment for a lot of the game. I’m happy it fell to me and delighted I took it.

"It kick-started us to keep continuing the way we were playing and we got the two more goals.

City Return To The Top With Preston Win

Enjoy the key moments from Leicester City's 3-0 success over Preston North End in the Sky Bet Championship.

"I’m just going to keep plugging away. [Scoring goals] was definitely one of the areas of my game that I wanted to improve on, and so far, it’s going well. I don’t want to get too ahead of myself. I’m just going to keep working hard in training and keep finishing. When the opportunities come, I’m going to try and take them."

Next up, on Saturday, it's 18th-placed Stoke City who visit Leicester and Dewsbury-Hall knows how crucial it would be to get another win in the bag ahead of the second international break of the campaign.

"It would be fantastic, it would be a really, really positive section of the season, going into the next international break," the 25-year-old explained. "I feel like, in this league, you can rack up wins really quickly as you’re playing every three days.

"It’s a good win tonight, but we’ll get back on the training pitch tomorrow and all focus goes to Stoke now. We know, if we win at the weekend, then we’re in a really good position."
