The Foxes have now won six league games in a row - also tasting success in 10 of 11 outings in all - which puts them top of the Sky Bet Championship table heading into the second international break of the season.

Kelechi Iheanacho's opener was added to by substitute Jamie Vardy at King Power Stadium on Saturday, a reward for City's patient build-up play to break Stoke down. Casadei, on the other hand, was one of the standout players in the middle.

"They were all behind the ball, it was not an easy game," the Italian, on loan from Chelsea, said afterwards. "It was a tough game because it was difficult to find the space between the lines.

"I think we managed to keep the ball with patience and, in the end, we found two goals and we won the game. [Patience] is the key word, absolutely. In games like this, you have to be patient because it’s hard to find the space.

We Managed To Keep The Ball, Says Casadei

Cesare Casadei talks through Leicester City's 2-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

"We did very well. We stayed patient and we found the three points."

Casadei was pleased to contribute to another Leicester City victory at the weekend and revealed how his side found more space and more opportunities as the clash with Alex Neil's Potters wore on.

"I just try to give my best, to work hard in the middle of the pitch, and today was a game where we had to wait sometimes," he added. "I think the most important thing is the win and to get the three points.

"At the start of the game, they are close, there is no space inside, but with time, they start to get tired. Especially in the second half, they opened a little bit more and we found more space in the middle of the pitch and we managed to get through."

Being able to bring Wilfred Ndidi and Vardy off the bench was a luxury which ultimately helped City seal all three points.

"It’s not bad at all!" the 20-year-old said. "They are really good players. We have a lot of good players. We have quality in the team and we have a really good team. We know that everyone that is involved can do very well for the team and can help the team. We are doing really well."

Casadei is now hoping to represent Italy at Under-21s level during the upcoming international break and he's excited by the prospect.

"It’s always a good thing when I go to the national team," he explained. "It’s always good for me to play for my national team, so I’m very happy. Sometimes it’s very nice to go back to Italy and speak my language and to stay with my team-mates.

"It’s nice to go back and have some good times with my team-mates."
