Nine Foxes Set For International Action

Nine Leicester City players will be hoping to represent their countries over the upcoming international break.

- Leicester City players are away with their countries for 2023/24's second international break
- There's UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers for Danny Ward, Yunus Akgün, Wout Faes and Mads Hermansen
- Patson Daka, Wilfred Ndidi and Wilfred Ndidi have international friendlies to contend with
- Harry Souttar is in England for a double-header of fixtures for Australia
- Cesare Casadei has UEFA U21 EURO qualification matters to address with Italy

The Foxes signed off ahead of the break with a 2-0 win over Stoke City which keeps Enzo Maresca's men top of the Sky Bet Championship, but must now wait just under a fortnight for their next domestic outing.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward is the first City player who could see action during this two-week pause, with his Wales side hosting Gibraltar in an international friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground on Wednesday night (7:45pm kick-off).

That will prepare the Red Dragons for Sunday's huge UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying clash with Croatia, in Cardiff (7:45pm kick-off). Group leaders Croatia have a game in hand on Wales but are currently only three points ahead of Rob Page's men.

Thursday's action, on the other hand, will see Yunus Akgün and Turkey take on Croatia in that extra game at Opus Arena in Osijek. The Crescent-Stars are second in Group D and also host Latvia on Sunday (7:45pm kick-off).

Earlier on Thursday, Patson Daka could feature for Zambia in a friendly against Egypt at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE (5pm kick-off), before an encounter at the same venue with Uganda on Tuesday (TBC kick-off).

Harry Souttar, meanwhile, may play for Australia at Wembley on Friday as they take on England in a showpiece friendly in London (7:45pm kick-off). New Zealand at Brentford's Gtech Community Stadium is next up on Tuesday (7:45pm kick-off).

Wout Faes has been called up by Belgium for a double-header of EURO qualifiers, starting with Austria away on Friday (7:45pm kick-off). Both sides share a seven-point lead over third-placed Sweden in Group F. The Red Devils also host the Swedes in Brussels on Monday (7:45pm kick-off).

Clashes with England and New Zealand are on the cards for Harry Souttar and Australia.

Elsewhere, Nigeria duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho are in the Super Eagles group which will contest a friendly against Saudi Arabia in the Algarve, Portugal (5pm kick-off). They'll also face Mozambique there on Monday (4pm kick-off).

Shot-stopper Mads Hermansen will have to wait until Saturday for an opportunity to make his senior debut for Denmark, who entertain Kazakhstan at Parken in Copenhagen (7:45pm kick-off).

The Danes are level on points with Group H leaders Slovenia, but just one clear of fourth-placed Kazakhstan. A trip to San Marino on Tuesday then ends Denmark's October action (7:45pm kick-off).

Cesare Casadei may also add to his Italy Under-21s caps total when they tackle Norway in U21 EURO qualification Group D, where they are currently third, two points from top. The two sides meet on Tuesday at 4:45pm, at Druso Stadium in Bolzano.
