In light of the tragic events unfolding in the conflict in Israel and Palestine, Leicester City joins football clubs throughout the game this weekend in expressing its deepest sympathies to all those affected and its support for the humanitarian crisis in the region.
Both Leicester City’s Men’s and Women’s First Teams will be taking part in a collective show of support for the innocent victims and their families during fixtures this Saturday, with both teams to wear black armbands and observe a minute of silence before their respective matches.
Leicester City’s Men’s First Team travel to Swansea City on Saturday afternoon at 3pm, while LCFC Women host Manchester City at King Power Stadium at 5:15pm. Such support will be reflected throughout both the English Football League and the Barclays Women’s Super League this weekend.
In addition, for the safety and well-being of everyone attending Leicester City matches, both home and away, supporters are advised of an update regarding flags allowed inside stadiums. In line with recommendations from football’s governing bodies, flags or displays representing Israel or Palestine will not be permitted inside King Power Stadium or the Swansea.com Stadium. This decision has been made to minimise the risk of flashpoints or actions that may be seen as provocative to sections of our diverse communities.
