The England midfielder found the net - in stunning fashion - for the first time in a Leicester shirt at MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium, ensuring the Foxes left west London with all three Sky Bet Championship points after a difficult encounter, remaining five points clear at the top of the table.

Enzo Maresca’s men had to fight to come away with a Club-record equalling ninth consecutive league win, sending the 2,764 travelling supporters home happy, much to Winks’ delight.

“It's amazing,” the 27-year-old beamed. “I'm so happy. To score the winner in front of the fans as well was an absolute bonus because they were incredible all game. I couldn't have asked for a better first goal for the Club.

Mavididi & Winks Seal QPR Victory

Enjoy the goals from Leicester City's hard-fought 2-1 success at Queens Park Rangers.

“It was a really difficult game. We knew that coming here they were going to give everything. They were going to make it tough for us and it was mostly about matching their energy and their desire to win the game and then our quality would show. I think we showed that.”

Following Stephy Mavididi’s opener, Andre Dozzell equalised prior to half-time, before the QPR man was shown two yellow cards, handing the visiting Foxes a man advantage that Winks made pay in the 80th minute.

“I don't know how many chances they had,” he explained. “It wasn't too many, but I think we performed really, really well and deserved the win. But it was a difficult game as well, because they're good opposition. They strong, they're physical, and they made it tough for us and cause us problems defensively.

“We'll celebrate tonight, have a good night and enjoy the win. But then tomorrow when we're on the way down, we'll think about the result and then how we can beat Leeds in the next game.”

The Fans Were Incredible, Says Winks

Match-winner Harry Winks offers his verdict on Leicester City's 2-1 triumph over Queens Park Rangers.

Welcoming Leeds to King Power Stadium for an 8pm kick-off on Friday, a battle between first and third in the division, Winks knows another a testing battle awaits against Daniel Farke’s side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star added: “It's another difficult game against good opposition. They’re a side that we're going to go in and show respect to because they deserve that; every team in this division deserves respect.

“Every team poses their threats and their difficulties. But it's a game that we're going to look to try and exploit them in and keep performing well. We'll go back and we'll work on trying to improve and look at where we can hurt them.”
