- They visited Team Hub CIC in New Parks to take part in a mental health workshop with residents
- Week of Action sees clubs from across the EFL’s three divisions showcase their most impactful community projects

Project 15, funded by the Premier League, Professional Footballers Association (PFA) and Barclays 100 v 100 fund, aims to get hard to reach families from the New Parks and St Matthews areas of the city engaged in the community.

The project - delivered by Leicester City in the Community coaches – works to ensure families in these areas get the support they need, from re-establishing a social life, to financial advice and help improving their mental health and wellbeing.

Earlier this week, Coady and Albrighton visited Team Hub CIC in New Parks to meet parents and their young families to discuss the importance of good mental health and how to improve mood and self-esteem.

Mental Health The Focus In EFL Week Of Action

Leicester City pair Conor Coady and Marc Albrighton visit a Leicester City in the Community and Project 15 gathering as part of the EFL Week of Action.

Albrighton said: “Mental health has been around forever, but it’s become more of a focus in recent years and places like Team Hub CIC are incredible as it gives people somewhere to come to talk, meet people and get things off their chest.

“We’re all fighting our own battles, however big or small, so it’s important to talk and open up about how we feel because keeping things bottled up doesn’t help.”

Launched in 2017, the Week of Action sees clubs from across the EFL’s three divisions showcase some of their most impactful community projects.

Project 15, run in partnership with Team Hub and Women4Change in Leicester, launched at LCFC Training Ground in August 2022, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and former player Çağlar Söyüncü joining families to take part in various fun and engaging physical activities.

Project 15 has helped me a 1000 per cent, I’ve changed so much, and everyone here has been such a big support to me.

Nathan Glover Participant

Since the project’s launch, Leicester City in the Community have worked with more than 100 adults and children from the New Parks and St Matthews areas.

“It was fantastic to meet Conor and Marc,” Project 15 participant Nathan Glover commented. “They were both lovely lads, and it was a great opportunity for our community to be able to share some of our stories with them.

“Project 15 has helped me a 1000 per cent, I’ve changed so much, and everyone here has been such a big support to me. I’m a lot more confident and engaging now, and the project has just turned my life around to be honest.”
