Faes: We'll Continue In The Same Way

Stephy Mavididi's 24th-minute opener was cancelled out by an unfortunate Jannik Vestergaard own goal in second-half added time, although the Foxes remain six points clear of Town at the top of the Sky Bet Championship.
It was a frustrating end to an evening which would have seen Leicester go nine points ahead of Kieran McKenna's Ipswich, but while Faes can point to areas for improvement, the Belgian was keen to focus on the positives.
"It's 19 wins out of 24 games," City's No.3 said afterwards. "That’s not bad. We just have to continue like this. We played a very good team today and credit to them for their season also. We need to keep going. It’s going in the right way.
"It was [an] amazing [goal from Mavididi]. We know he has this quality. He does it so well. We just have to stick to doing what we do, don’t change anything, and hopefully it’ll continue like this.

A top-of-the-table Sky Bet Championship clash ends in a 1-1 draw between Ipswich Town and Leicester City.
"We should have done better in the second half, maybe played out a bit easier and a bit better, but that’s football. If we get so many chances against us, it proves there’s something wrong. It’s a pity for the whole team.
"I think we defended well and had some great attacks as well. If we were a bit more clinical up front, maybe the game is finished, but like I said, that’s football."
With Conor Coady coming into the backline at Portman Road, Faes was nudged further to the left by Manager Enzo Maresca. The towering defender, though, is happy to play wherever instructed to help the team get results.
"It’s left-back in defence and then, when we have the ball, we make three at the back so it’s then like a left centre-back," he explained.
"I’ll play where the coach wants me to play and I’ll always give my best and then it’s up to the coach the decide where I play. It’s a joy to play in this style of play. He wants to play football from the back.
"He wants to keep a style which is something I like. He wants to be aggressive and usually that gets rewarded. Today, we were against a tough team who are doing very well, but I think we just have to continue going like this."
Having played two days before Christmas and now on Boxing Day, a trip to Cardiff City is next up on Friday, although Faes enjoys the packed festive fixture schedule.
"We have everything we need for recovery at the facilities at the training ground, so I think that’s no issue," the 25-year-old added. "Me personally, I like playing a lot, every two or three days, so it’s not bad."
