Stolarczyk: Confidence Flowing

- It was the Polish shot-stopper’s fifth appearance of the season

The hosts began on the front foot at The Den and forced Stolarczyk into action several times before goals from Cesare Casadei, Ricardo Pereira and Tom Cannon ensured the Foxes progressed into the fourth round at the weekend.

The Polish shot-stopper commented: “Both of us [‘keepers] had a bit to do, but it was a positive result for us. It’s nice to get [a game]. I've not played for a couple of months and within the first five minutes I made two saves, so I was on the front foot as a 'keeper.

Leicester Safely Into FA Cup Next Stage

The best of the action from The Den as Leicester City seal safe passage into the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round.

“It was a good start for me. It's always difficult coming in after not playing for a while, but for me, it played out quite well with having a couple saves at the start, which obviously gave me a bit more confidence going into the rest of the game.

“That's part of goalkeeping. There is only one position out there, so whenever you get a chance, you need to make sure you're always ready because anything can happen.”

It was far from a straightforward victory, with Duncan Watmore and Zian Flemming netting in the second half and creating a nervy finish in the capital, though Enzo Maresca’s men saw it out to put their name in the hat for the next round.

The 23-year-old explained: “They have created the chances as well, so I think they probably could score even more, but same as us, we've had loads of chances so we could score more goals as well. But my thoughts are that we deserved to win today."

A Positive Afternoon For Us, Says Stolarczyk

Goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk offers his perspective of Leicester City's 3-2 win at Millwall in the Emirates FA Cup.

The fourth round draw will be made on Monday evening, and while Stolarczyk would savour the opportunity to play at King Power Stadium for the first time in 2023/24, he knows he’ll have the Blue Army’s backing wherever the tie is played.

"I'd love to [get a home draw],” he added. “I haven't played at home this season yet, so it would have been nice to have a game at home, but I always enjoy away games as well because away fans are always brilliant.

“I can't say anything bad about them, there's always support behind me. There's always a big amount of them, so to play away, it's not too bad either.”
