Last-Gasp Goal Secures PL2 Draw For City's U21s

A 94th-minute equaliser ensured Leicester City's Development Squad took a share of the spoils in Monday's 2-2 draw with Newcastle United.
More on this story...

The young Foxes returned to competitive action following their winter break with a rearranged Premier League 2 clash against the Magpies at LCFC Training Ground, but got off to the worse possible start as Dylan Stephenson opened the scoring for the visiting Magpies, lobbing the ball over Brad Young just two minutes in.

However, the side coached by Ben Petty, playing for the first time this calendar year, responded sharply via defender Harvey Godsmark-Ford, who levelled the contest, heading in on 18 minutes.

Ben Parkinson's neat finish with just over a quarter of an hour to go looked to have sealed victory for the away side, but City kept going and got their reward deep into stoppage-time when returning midfielder Ewing, introduced from the bench, saw his effort hit the post in the midst of a scramble, before it cannoned off Charlie McArthur and into the back of the net for the all important leveller.

A second successive stalemate leaves Leicester 21st out of 26 in PL2, level on nine points with 20th-placed Newcastle, having played 10 games. They face Reading away next Monday, in a 7pm GMT kick-off at Bearwood Park Training Ground.
