Dewsbury-Hall: Put It Behind Us

Dewsbury-Hall's penalty put City in front at Coventry Building Society Arena, but a red card for Abdul Fatawu changed the complexion of the clash, with the Sky Blues having an extra man for over 45 minutes.

A brace from Callum O'Hare - plus Milan van Ewijk's strike - turned the match on its head in the final 11 minutes and handed Leicester a first defeat since 11 November.

"It’s very disappointing," the Academy graduate said. "I felt like that was a game we didn’t deserve to lose. In the first half, we created a lot of chances, we probably should have been more goals in front.

"In the second half, for large spells of that game, we defended well. They found it hard to break us down. They didn’t really create anything and I actually felt comfortable in the second half, I’ll be honest.

"Their goals, in my opinion, aren’t very good goals to concede. It’s annoying because I felt like we deserved more from the game but its one of them.

"The first goal has gone through a lot of bodies. It’s the same with the second goal, it’s bounced through loads of bodies and that’s when you’ve got to go for it. The third goal is part of the game. I genuinely felt we deserved more.

"You put it behind you and onto the next."

Dewsbury-Hall was eager to offer reassurance for 19-year-old winger Fatawu, who he says will learn from his dismissal. 

"Abdul’s been fantastic since he came into the team," he added. "He’s still very, very young so he’ll learn from that. It’s a great learning curve. The lads have said to him: ‘Don’t worry about it. It’s part of the game. You’re young’.

"I’m sure he’ll come back stronger because he’s upset in there."

The 25-year-old would like to return to match action as soon as possible, but with the visit of Ipswich Town not until Monday week, work on the training ground will be utilised to be prepared for that encounter with the Tractor Boys.

"The supporters are great," KDH continued. "Seeing them celebrate like that when we scored was fantastic. I wish we had an earlier next game to get straight back on the pitch, but we’ve got time to get on the training pitch and continue working hard and we’ve got another tough game in Ipswich.

"It’s a great game for us to bounce back. Knowing the lads and the mentality – what we’ve done so many times this season – I’m sure we’re going to go into that game giving ourselves the best chance of getting three points.

"We’ve put ourselves in a fantastic position. We’re going to have games like this in a 46-game season. It’s happened. We’ll forget about it. Onwards and upwards and I’m sure we’ll do that."
