Kristiansen Notches Assist As Six Other Loanees Feature

Bologna remain fifth, level on points with Atalanta, with a home fixture against Hellas Verona up next on Friday (7:45pm kick-off). The defender could make his 24th appearance for the club in that encounter.

Boubakary Soumaré, meanwhile, played throughout a goalless draw away at Valencia in La Liga at the weekend. The French midfielder has made 22 appearances this term and it’s now four games unbeaten for Rojiblancos, who stay 15th in the table prior to travelling to Santiago Bernabéu to face Real Madrid this Sunday (8pm kick-off).

Left-back Luke Thomas made his full Middlesbrough debut against Preston North End last midweek, losing 2-1 at Deepdale. The January signing was ineligible to face the Foxes on Saturday but is back in contention for a home game against Plymouth Argyle (3pm kick-off), with Michael Carrick’s side currently just outside the top half of the table.

There was a 2-1 defeat for Lewis Brunt and Mansfield Town at the hands of Walsall on Saturday, with the defender playing throughout the Sky Bet League 2 encounter at Bescot Stadium.

Remaining second in the fourth tier, the Stags’ next assignment is this Saturday’s fixture against Salford City, a 3pm kick-off at Field Mill, with Brunt in line for his 26th league appearances of 2023/24.

In National League South, centre-back Paul Appiah was a starter in Maidstone United’s 2-0 reverse away to Aveley on Monday night.

His 12th appearance for the side sitting fourth in the table, attention turns back to the Emirates FA Cup next Monday, meeting Coventry City in the fifth round (7:45pm kick-off).

Fellow Development Squad player Zach Booth played 82 minutes of FC Volendam’s 1-1 draw with Vitesse, as the bottom two clubs in Eredivisie met. Heerenveen are up next on Sunday (7pm kick-off), with the 20-year-old making 16 league appearances to date for Palingboeren.

Forward Nathan Opoku was in OH Leuven’s starting XI against Charleroi, a game which ended goalless. The Ghanian played 88 minutes for the side placed 12th in Jupiler Pro League, with RWD Molenbeek to come on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
