The Foxes were narrowly beaten by Spurs last weekend.

City's efforts in the second half of the season has seen them pick up six wins out of their 10 games in 2024, but most recently fell to a frustrating defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road last weekend.

Matilda Vinberg scored the only goal of the game in the second minute and although the Foxes continued to push for a comeback, Jutta Rantala coming closest when her effort cannoned off the post, they were ultimately beaten, demoting them to eighth in the standings.

This result however, has not hindered Leicester's development on last season, as they currently reside 10 points clear of the drop zone, with a date in the semi-finals of the Adobe Women's FA Cup coming up next month. Top goalscorer Rantala, who has 14 goal involvements this season, will be hoping to add to that total.

Brighton head into the weekend currently two points and two spaces behind City, knowing a win could reverse their spots in the league. They equal Leicester's four wins, but have conceded six more goals throughout the season.

They kickstarted the month of March in excellent fashion, with a 7-3 win over newly-promoted Bristol City, in which six different scorers found the net, but have since recorded two defeats to Manchester United in the FA Cup, and Manchester City in the league at the weekend.

Norwegian forward Elisabeth Terland could be one to look out for on Sunday, as the Seagulls' forward arrives to the East Midlands as the Super League's third top goalscorer with 11.

Mikey Harris took charge of Brighton at the start of February, taking over from Melissa Phillips, and has so far won twice in six managerial outings as he becomes acclimatised to the top level of women's football.

The 39-year-old began his coaching career in Wiltshire with Salisbury, where he played a part in a big era for the club, which saw them rise from the seventh to the fifth tier of the English pyramid. Harris then spent two years in the Southampton Under-18s setup before joining Brighton.

Lena Petermann and Jutta Rantala found the net last time out against the Seagulls.

The Foxes boast a good record against the Seagulls, winning twice and drawing once in their last three meetings. The two wins both came during the 2022/23 WSL campaign, where they picked up a 3-0 home victory before Ava Baker made the difference in the reverse fixture.

Forced to settle for a point in the reverse fixture at Broadfield Stadium, Terland scored twice for the south coast club to cancel out goals from Lena Petermann and Rantala either side of the break.
