A Great Shift, Says Dewsbury-Hall

The Academy graduate levelled Gabriel Sara's opener before half-time, while goals in the second period from Stephy Mavididi and Jamie Vardy wrapped up a crucial victory for the Foxes in the promotion battle.

With seven games to play, City know it's all in their own hands and Dewsbury-Hall's 11th goal of the season was a significant moment in their 27th win of the campaign. Building on this success will be key now, the central midfielder insists.

"It feels very good," Dewsbury-Hall said. "It was a cup final for us, this game. We needed to win it, it’s as simple as that. We showed great mentality after going down 1-0 in the first half. I thought we played really well.

"We scored some great goals and, in the end, it’s a deserved win. That was a great response and it gives us platform to go on and try and get as many wins as possible until the end of the season.

City Back On Track With Norwich Success

Enjoy the best moments from Leicester City's 3-1 victory over Norwich City on Monday.

"It builds confidence now and we’re going into the next game (vs. Birmingham City on Saturday) raring to go. It’s nice that it’s at home. When the crowd’s going here, it’s great honestly.

"Understandably, they were frustrated in the first half, but in the second half, we were creating chances and getting into their box – and they were getting louder and louder. That just motivates us and gets us that little one per cent of the ball.

"We’re home again on Saturday and hopefully we can put in another good performance."

Dewsbury-Hall's first goal since late January was a welcome moment for the Shepshed-based midfielder, who is hoping to have more of a say over the coming run-in. Taking chances has proving difficult for Leicester, but not on Monday.

"It’s been a while!" City's No.22 added. "It was nice to finish that and pop up with another header. I’m scoring more headers these days then I am with my feet!

"I’m always happy to contribute and help the team whenever I can and hopefully I can do that a few more times. We created a lot of good chances in the last couple of games and not managed to take them, which is frustrating.

"We’ve got a lot of qualities in the squad but it’s about taking chances and today we did. There were some nice goals today and now hopefully that can let people relax a bit and, in front of goal now, we can score some more.

"That’s what we’re going to need now until the end of the season. For the first half, we pretty much dominated the game, apart from that one set-piece which caught us out. It was nice to go in at half-time not behind because the mentality switches.

"We came out for the second half on the front foot from minute one and they couldn’t really get out. It was pleasing in that aspect. It's a lovely feeling at full-time when you win games like that.

"You don’t get many feelings like that in your life apart from in football. There was a bit of relief as well, we’re human. It’s nice to win the game and it takes a bit of stress off us. We can go into the changing room and enjoy it.

'That Can Build Confidence'

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall reflects on Leicester City's 3-1 triumph over Norwich City.

"We’ve had a tough couple of weeks. When you get the highs, you’ve got to take it into the next games."

Leicester will have to deal with pressure over the weeks to come, but Dewsbury-Hall is confident that they are up to the task.

"You’re always going to have pressure, especially when you’re a good team in the league and people expect you to win games all the time," he explained. "It’s something you have to take in your stride and try and use as motivation and fuel in games.

"I feel like we did that today and everybody put in a great shift today to get the three points. We just need to keep going our job. We can’t really focus on the other teams.

"It’s nice, if you’re the early kick-off, if you can get a win because the pressure’s off you. The other teams have got tough games, but whatever happens happens. We’ll be focused on the next game and trying to get the three points."
