The Foxes recovered from defeat at Bristol City three days earlier to beat the Canaries at King Power Stadium on Easter Monday, courtesy of goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jamie Vardy, either side of Mavididi’s strike.

Forced to overturn an early deficit, following Gabriel Sara’s opener, the manner of the performance which led to a comprehensive victory was just as important as the result, generating renewed confidence throughout the side.

“I feel we needed that, not even just the players, as a Club,” City’s No.10 admitted following full-time. “The Club in general and the supporters as well, so it’s a massive three points and hopefully we can just kick on now.

Stephy Mavididi vs. Norwich City

A stylish finish from Stephy Mavididi puts Leicester City ahead against Norwich City.

“We've got a game plan. We stick to it and we work on it every day so when we play, we enjoy playing and obviously it's even sweeter when we get the points. It's not easy going down early on in the game.

“But we showed the coolness and we showed our quality in the end. Hats off to the boys for keeping it cool and getting the three points. I feel that [equaliser] set us up to go out and attack the second half, so it was a crucial point in the game.”

Mavididi and Dewsbury-Hall assisted each other to take their respective tallies to 11 apiece for league goals, with the 25-year-old showing calmness under that pressure to finish and edge Leicester ahead.

“Me and Ki, we've got a good relationship on the left,” he continued. “Once he got it, I knew he was going to feed it into me and I'm really comfortable in those positions. I've been in them my whole career and I work on it daily. I know what I need to do.

“We like to attack and as a team, we like to get it out wide, on the left. If it doesn't go through on the left, we go back, turn onto the right, and when he (Abdul Fatawu) picks up the ball it's a joy to watch, and I'm sure he says the same. It's really fun.

Mavididi: We Needed That

Goalscorer Stephy Mavididi offers his perspective of Leicester City's 3-1 success over Norwich City.

“In football, you're never going to score every single chance you get. But today it was a good performance and good to get three goals to get confidence back in the lads, so it was good.”

The twists and turns of the title race continue and the winger was pleased to produce a performance and result which gave the supporters something to cheer after four games on the road.

“Things take time,” he added. “I always pray for moments like this, and these are crucial moments that can define seasons. We know it's not going to be easy running. Now more than ever, we've just got to stick together, us, staff, the fans, everyone as a Club. We've got to stick together and just have to take it game by game.

“The Manager is very passionate. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it just shows our collectiveness and how much we're in this together. We felt like we owed it to the fans to get the three points with a good performance, so hopefully we can replicate that on Saturday.”
