We Need To Go Again, Says Ricardo

- The Foxes nevertheless keep hold of their place at the Sky Bet Championship's summit
- Ricardo Pereira spoke with frustration about the result and performance
- He says they must respond quickly with so few games remaining

Ryan Longman's 59th-minute hit from distance was ultimately the difference at The Den, although the Foxes remain top of the Sky Bet Championship by a margin of one point.

Despite holding onto their place at the summit, at least until Wednesday evening, Ricardo left south London frustrating that City were not able to carve out more opportunities.

"We wanted three points," the Portuguese said in his full-time assessment. "We knew how important it was, but every team is fighting for something at this stage. I think we should have done better to win the game.

Sometimes the game was a little bit of transitions and that’s not our game. We are sad with the result for sure.

"We had some chances to win the game after we conceded but the ball didn’t go in. It was difficult.

"We knew they would be difficult to play through. We knew we had to be patient, go side to side, but I think we could have done it a little bit better in terms of more patience and trying to find the right moment to attack and find space. Sometimes the game was a little bit of transitions and that’s not our game. We are sad with the result for sure."

After winning two on the bounce, it's a bump in the road for City's promotion bid, but Ricardo says that the squad must remain resilient to the challenges. They're due at Plymouth Argyle on Friday evening (8pm BST kick-off).

Ricardo: We Should Have Done Better

Defender Ricardo Pereira reflects on Leicester City's defeat to Millwall at The Den.

"In general, it’s like that, but this season it’s happened sometimes," he added, discussing inconsistent form. "We have to be ready for that. Of course, we’re disappointed today, but we have a game in two or three days and we need to go again.

"We try to find the right balance because we cannot be too happy [after a win] and too disappointed when we lose. We have a game in three days and we cannot think it’ll be too easy, or the opposite.

"We’ll find the right balance and see what we did not well and what we did well to get the three points on Friday."
