Development Squad defender James Pearson has joined Sky Bet League 1 side Carlisle United on loan until the end of the 2013/14 season.
The promising 21-year-old has impressed with some energetic displays at right-back for Steve Beaglehole’s Under-21s side this term, but can also feature as a centre-half. He joins the Brunton Park outfit as they look extend the two-point gap between themselves and the League 1 drop zone.
Pearson will be in line to make his Football League debut for the 19th-placed Cumbrians when they travel to FA Cup semi-finalists Sheffield United on Wednesday evening.
The all-action defender starred for the Foxes in recent victories away to Newcastle United and Fulham in the Barclays U21 Premier League - captaining the side against the Magpies.
