Pearson Hails Character After FA Cup Win
Leo Ulloa sparked the fight back when he controlled Jeff Schlupp’s shot and slotted into the corner with eight minutes remaining, before the winger diverted Danny Simpson’s cross past Michel Vorm to book City spot in Monday night’s fifth round draw.
Speaking exclusively to Foxes Player after the fourth round win, Pearson reflected: “It was a very good cup tie. Either side could have won it but we’re delighted to have been able to win the game.
“It was a tough game for us and they (Tottenham Hotspur) are a good side. You can see with the number of changes that they made today the amount of quality they had at their disposal. This is a great stadium to come to and I think the players have enjoyed being very competitive here today.
“As I said, I think having gone a goal down we had every right to feel aggrieved at the situation given the chances that we created throughout the game.
“The all-round performance was very good. We had to show a lot of discipline and character to stay in the game in the first half when they had some real strong periods of possession, in which they showed their quality.
“I always felt we looked pretty dangerous and when we made the changes, all three substitutes that went on had an exceptionally positive influence on the side. I’m delighted all round.
“When you see how many of our fans made the journey down today and the rapport between the players and themselves, it’s a real boost for the players to know that the supporters are behind us. We’re going to nee them from here on in.”
