Chris Wood Joins Ipswich Town On Loan

Leicester City striker Chris Wood has joined Championship side Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season.

Chris’ loan, which includes a recall option after 28 days, begins immediately and he could make his Town debut this Sunday in the East Anglia derby against Norwich City.
The New Zealand international forward, 23, has made nine appearances for City in all competitions this season, eight of them as a substitute, scoring once to secure an opening day point against Everton in a 2-2 draw at King Power Stadium.
He joins an Ipswich side chasing automatic promotion under Mick McCarthy and heading into a crucial run of fixtures in their efforts to break into the top two, starting at Carrow Road this weekend.
Wood has scored 20 goals in 62 appearances for City since joining from West Bromwich Albion on New Year’s Day 2013.
He made a sensational start to his City career with seven goals in his first five games, helping the Foxes into the Championship play-offs during his first season, before playing a significant role in their promotion as champions a year later.
