Pearson: Destiny In Our Own Hands
A run of four consecutive victories has propelled City up the table in recent weeks, and despite defeat to Chelsea last time out to bring that to and end, confidence remains high within the camp as they look to return to winning ways.
“I think it’s important for us to go into the final few games with our destiny in our own hands,” said Pearson. “That’s what we’re aiming to do. It’s not a case of now changing the plan.
“That’s how we intend to go about these next games. We’ve four left and three at home but it would be wide of the mark to assume that some games will be easier than others.
“When you play against sides that are also fighting for their lives, it throws up an element that makes it difficult to predict. We need to make sure our performances remain of a high standard.”
A familiar theme in City’s last three home clashes has been the incredible noise generated by the Blue Army, and again, Pearson knows they will be key to victory.
He added: “The supporters always have a big part to play. Whether it be at home or away, it’s important that you feel the fans are behind the players. That’s something that we’ve had all season.
“It’s important when things aren’t going the way that you want them to go. Hopefully they see that whatever the result, they’re seeing a group of players that have put in a performance that they can be proud of.”
