Nugent Out Of QPR Clash

Striker David Nugent will not be involved in the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League finale against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, manager Nigel Pearson revealed.
The Foxes, having secured their top-flight status with a goalless draw at Sunderland last weekend, take on an already relegated Rs side at King Power Stadium knowing that they could finish as many as seven points above the drop-zone with a win.

And with their spot in next season’s Premier League booked, the City boss explained that Nugent will not be risked, but is making significant strides in his recovery from a calf problem that he picked up in the pre-match warm-up before the victory over Swansea City.

“He won’t be available this week, but he’s made good progress,” Pearson said. “Again, he’s now able to work pain-free which means he’s very, very close. If there was more riding on the game, there may be other considerations.

“I think for the sake of what’s riding on this game, which is three points and an opportunity to get beyond 40 points, it’s not a risk that we’re contemplating.

“We don't have too many other problems. Everyone is more or less available. It’s as we were, really.”
