Leicester City’s Under-18s kicked-off their 2015/16 Barclays U18 Premier League season with a battling win over Swansea City on Saturday.

The young Foxes had to come from behind to secure the three points despite a dominant performance in the first half.

Trevor Peake’s side couldn’t capitalise on their share of possession and the hosts took the lead just after the half hour mark.

A determined Leicester side emerged in the second period, eventually pulling level thanks to defender Josh Knight’s header.

City continued at the same tempo and got a deserved second goal with 20 minutes to play. Alex Pascanu's delivery from the wing deflected off a defender and into the back of the net.

Reflecting on the win, Peake told LCFC.com: “The game went well. We had the majority of play and got into their penalty box a number of times in the first half. We didn’t finish off and we got punished. The ball dropped kindly for one of their players, it ricocheted around the box and Swansea went 1-0 up.

“That was a bit frustrating for the lads because they’d had a lot more chances. Then, in the second half we managed to get two goals.

“They weren’t classic goals, but again, we got into the penalty area in the second half and scored from a set play. From a free kick, Josh Knight headed in.

“Then, Alex Pascanu, one of the younger lads, got a cross in and the ball deflected off one of the Swansea players right into the top corner and the goalkeeper couldn’t do anything about it.

“We created enough opportunities to score a classier goal than the two that we got in the end, but that’s football.”
