Martin [O’Neill] lived around the corner I think, so it was an easy fixture for him to come and see. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“He saw something in me and I think at the time he was managing at Wycombe and I don’t think he thought I was physically ready for that league. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“Then he went to Norwich and from Norwich to Leicester and he was still coming to watch me. I went in to see Glenn Hoddle one day and said ‘it’s not working out for me here, is there any chance I can go out on loan?’. He basically said there’s nobody that wants you. So I was like, ‘blimey right. I’m in the last year of my contract what am I going to do?’ He said ‘leave it with me, I’ll ask about’. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“It was literally the next day he said there was a club that wanted me, so would I be interested in going out on loan. He said as it was my last year I’d need to sign a new contract before I go out on loan because if the club wanted me they’d need to be able to ask for a fee. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“I was on £275-a-week and I signed a new contract for £500-a-week, then I signed on loan for Leicester. That was the start of it. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“Believe it or not I found out years later that Micky Adams was interested in me too and he was the Fulham manager [at the time]. I think if both clubs had said you can go to Leicester or Fulham, being a London lad it would have been easier to go to Fulham. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><em>“I’m glad that that didn’t happen because all this with Leicester wouldn’t have happened.” </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt; text-decoration: underline;">Watch the full interview on <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/7e8a8fd6-a96e-4ce3-9a52-a44a3d4f2c50" target="_blank">Foxes Player HD here</a>, or to subscribe <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/Buy" target="_blank">click here</a>. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><strong>PREVIOUS EPISODES:</strong> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 1 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/4c651083-f945-4657-90eb-2741021c3bcb" target="_blank">Andy King</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 2 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/6c15f28f-fb5a-40fc-9c61-9d2d7bbfed9a" target="_blank">Danny Drinkwater</a> </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 3 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/ad13db34-fe4c-4f68-93ab-5304dac46977" target="_blank">Alan Birchenall</a></div><div><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">EPISODE 4 – <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com/latest-news/7e8a8fd6-a96e-4ce3-9a52-a44a3d4f2c50" target="_blank">Muzzy Izzet</a></span></span></div><div><a href="http://www.foxandcropclothing.co.uk" target="_blank"><img xlink:href="tcm:0-2367360" title="F&amp;C_SS15_StoryBanner" alt="F&amp;C_SS15_StoryBanner" style="width: 480px; height: 100px;" xlink:title="F&amp;C_SS15_StoryBanner" /></a><br /></div></div>
