For the 36th consecutive year, Leicester City Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall will be lacing up his running shoes to take on his annual end of season run for the LCFC Foxes Foundation.

Sponsored by Mark English at MJE Contracts, Upton Steel and Humphreys Estate Agents, this year’s run comes ahead of City’s final home Barclays Premier League fixture of the season against Everton, which takes place at King Power Stadium on Saturday 7 May.

As always, Birch and his army of fundraisers will be embarking upon a 90-minute run around the pitch as they raise vital funds for this year’s LCFC Foxes Foundation partner charities.

More than £1million has been raised for local causes since our much-loved Ambassador and former player embarked upon his first run back in the mid-1980s, and with the Everton fixture set to be a fantastic occasion, the Birch is calling on everyone to dig deep and donate.

The gruelling 90-minute run will see Birch joined by fellow fundraisers, celebrities and the Leicester City squad during their pre-match warm-ups, in what has become a time-honoured tradition.

This year’s LCFC Foxes Foundation Partner Charities are:

Leicester Hospitals Charity

Once, We Were Soldiers

Royal Volunteer Service

Warning Zone

The Lord Mayor’s Appeal (Place 2 Be and The Sparks Art For Children)

The 70-year-old told :“I know I refer to the event as the charity ‘wobble’, as although my mind is willing, my body is not so! But I can guarantee I will do my best and be out there wobbling for 90 minutes.

“As always our players will join me for a couple of laps and hopefully we will have a few celebs taking part too.

“It’s always a wonderful occasion and it’s for some truly wonderful causes. Leicester City fans have always been extremely generous with their donations and once again, if everyone donates just £1, it really will make a massive difference.”

Donations can be made in a number of ways:
