A late strike from Raul Uche helped Leicester City’s Development Squad earn their first Premier League 2 point of the season against Southampton on Monday evening.

Olufela Olomola gave hosts the lead at their Staplewood Training Ground before Admiral Muskwe levelled for the Foxes in first-half stoppage time.

Olomola struck again with just five minutes to play, but Uche, who signed from Rayo Vallecano in the summer, headed in a corner to make it 2-2 on 88 minutes to secure a point for his side.

The Foxes next face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Friday evening (7pm kick-off), as they continue their Premier League 2 campaign.

Under-23s manager Steve Beaglehole said ahead of the clash: “It’s a fantastic privilege to be playing at a main stadium, not least Etihad Stadium. It’s one of the best grounds in not just England, but in Europe too.

“Manchester City are a club that have really pushed on in the last few years and they’ve put a marker down for a lot of clubs around the country.

"They’ve got a group of young, talented players who they’re trying to push on into their first team and that’s our main aim too.

“We’ve got some great sides in this league, but we want to be playing these games because it tests our players.

"Facing the likes of Man City, Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United is brilliant and that bar just keeps getting raised higher and higher.”
