Important Traffic Information

Leicester City supporters travelling to matches at King Power Stadium this season should be aware of roadworks currently taking place in areas around the ground.

The A426 Lutterworth Road in Aylestone between Soar Valley Way and Middleton Street will be closed from 12 July until around the end of October, as work on the installation of a new bus lane takes place.

As this is one of the main routes to the stadium, there is likely to be disruption for those supporters arriving at the ground from the M1 and M69 motorways, with increased traffic expected on Narborough Road as supporters seek an alternative route.

In addition to work taking place on the A426, the Highways Agency will also be carrying out improvement works at junction 21 of the M1 motorway, commencing on Monday 22 July and continuing for a period of 19 weeks.

Work includes widening of the southbound exit slip and will require the closure of the M1 southbound exit slip, the roundabout and the M69 at various times to ensure the swift and safe completion of work.

Supporters are strongly advised to take this into account when planning their journey to matches during the early part of the season and, where possible, to arrive early and allow extra time for their journey.

Further information about the work at junction 21 is available from the Highways Agency Information Line on telephone number 0300 123 5000.
