Situated near to the popular tourist location of Wörthersee lake, the Foxes will take part in a series of warm weather training sessions throughout their stay in the state of Carinthia.

City’s stars boarded their flight to Klagenfurt on Sunday afternoon and touched down in the early evening before enjoying a short bike ride through the hotel’s picturesque surrounding area.

While Velden often provides the setting for a summer getaway, it will be very much down to business for Craig Shakespeare’s men, who now go about readying themselves for a fourth-straight campaign in England’s top flight.

“It’s a lovely setting and we’re by a lake this year,” said the Leicester City manager when discussing the potential productivity of the Austria trip.

Manager Craig Shakespeare follows his players on the bike ride.

“I’ve been out to see the training pitches and they’re of good quality. We’ll play in-house 11-on-11 games and do a lot of tactical drills, but it provides them with the opportunity to be away from the training ground together.”

Having already spent a week back at Belvoir Drive to undergo pre-season testing and take part in several training sessions, Shakespeare knows exactly how beneficial the upcoming week of hard work will be.

Summer signing Harry Maguire leads the way in Austria.

“They’ve had a good few weeks off and they’ve been away from each other, so they’ll need that team spirit aligned with a good work ethic,” added the Leicester boss.

“It’s quite hot there when we go at that time of year, so it’s intense, but that togetherness that I’m big on will be in abundance. It gives the new players an opportunity to settle in.”
