Fans' View: Organisation Essential Against Chelsea

September. The month the Premier League season really gets going. Squads are finalised, the table starts to settle and fans begin to dream about what may lie ahead.
More on this story...

Defender Aleksandar Dragović arrived on deadline day. Following his loan move from Bayer Leverkusen, Dragović will reunite with his former international teammate, Christian Fuchs.

The tough-tackling centre back is renowned for his ability to read the game and for allowing his fellow central defenders to play more proactively.

The Austrian seems tailor-made to partner Harry Maguire but more comforting is the options City now have in a position in which we were lacking numbers in at the start of the window.

The Austrian joined the Club in August 2017.

Deadline day was not just one of welcomes, though, as we said goodbye to one of the key protagonists in our recent successes.

Danny Drinkwater completed his Club-record transfer to Chelsea following five successful years at King Power Stadium.

As a member of the Championship and Premier League winning sides, Drinkwater has left the Blue Army with many unforgettable memories.

One that stands out is the last-minute equaliser against Watford in 2014.

In a season where City were far too good for many of their opponents, this hard-fought point proved the side had the potential to achieve something special when they made the step up to England’s top flight.

Drinkwater, along with fellow former fox N’Golo Kanté, will return to King Power Stadium this weekend as their Chelsea side are Leicester’s latest opponents.

An opening weekend loss to Burnley was quickly forgotten as the Blues defeated Tottenham Hotspur in the first-ever Premier League match at Wembley before a 2-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge lifted the champions to sixth.

Two newly-promoted sides and four of England’s European representatives is a tough opening six matches by anyone’s standards but doing things the easy way is not in Leicester City’s DNA.

Leicester will have to be at their very best if they are to beat Chelsea.

Organisation in defence and midfield is essential if we are to restrict the west London side’s chances but, as always, City have the tools to hurt Antonio Conte's men if they push too many players into the attacking areas of the pitch.

Respecting the expected order of the Premier League is hardly in character either and, with the Blue Army at their back, we can’t expect them to start anytime soon.

About Emma

Emma is 20-years-old and has supported the Club since a young age. Her first match was a 2-1 defeat by Ipswich Town at King Power Stadium on Boxing Day, 2002.

Naturally, her favourite memory supporting City was watching them lift the Premier League title; in particular the 3-1 victory at Manchester City, which she watched with her dad and brother.
