An own goal from Federico Fernandez and Shinji Okazaki’s fifth goal of the season in all competitions put the Foxes into a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Alfie Mawson pulled one back shortly after and while the Swans applied pressure late on, Leicester City defended well to secure their first win on the road this term.

“It’s about time we started putting more points on the board,” Morgan told LCFC TV. “We don’t feel like we’ve had a good start to the season. Hopefully we can build on that.

“We had a good start and we felt comfortable in possession. We felt we dominated the game, especially in the first half. We were creating chances and causing them problems.

Morgan's Praise For Resilient City

Wes Morgan lauded the manner in which Leicester City went about beating Swansea City on Saturday.

“It was more of the Leicester of old and we scored at the right times. We showed some resilience to see the game out so all in all, it was a good all-round performance.”

Many, including Morgan, singled out the performance of midfielder Vicente Iborra, who looked excellent on just his second Premier League start.

He continued: “It was very rainy and very wet today. The ball was very slippy. Vinnie (Vicente Iborra) got on the ball today and he looked like he’s been part of the team for a long time.

“He was stringing passes together and keeping the ball ticking over which was great for us.

We had a good start and we felt comfortable in possession. We felt we dominated the game, especially in the first half. We were creating chances and causing them problems.

“All round, the team performed well and defended well at the same time. To get the points is the most important thing.”

Morgan spoke highly of his side’s defending in the late stages against the Swans and believes that stands them in good stead ahead of next week’s fixtures against Leeds United and Everton.

Morgan added: “They had a spell where they started to put a bit of pressure on. They scored a goal and we had to do a fair bit of defending, but we defended well at that time. We saw the game out which is the main thing.

“It took us a while last season to get that first away win so to get it early and to show that we can actually go out there and win games, especially away in difficult circumstances, bodes well.”
