The Frenchman’s Foxes contingent have lost just one of their last eight matches in all competitions following a hotly-contested 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Friday.

Assessing Tottenham's qualities on Monday afternoon, Puel told the national media: “I think they have, in every position, a good technical play and a great quality for every player.

Puel Previews Spurs Challenge

Claude Puel spoke to the media on Monday afternoon ahead of Tottenham's visit to King Power Stadium.

“They also have a good collective with their manager and they work very well with the squad with different players, they can change the starting players without changing the quality.

“We know that Tottenham can go far in the European competitions but it is always a good challenge for us to play this team and to play our game and to improve.”

The scale of the task City face will serve Puel with another opportunity to watch his new side in action against one of the strongest teams in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

If we can play good football and we are leading 1-0 or 2-1, we need to win this game and to keep this good concentration until the end of the game.

He added: “It will be important to see our progress and to play under pressure against a good opponent.

"It is promising for the future because the players listen and try to correct, step-by-step, and gradually improve their performances.

“It is a long way away but I think it is important that, in the two last games away, to take more points than we actually have.

“If we can play good football and we are leading 1-0, 2-1, then we need to win this game and to keep this good concentration until the end of game.

“We conceded goals in bad moments [against Stoke City & West Ham]. With Man City it was the same, a goal just before half time, and a goal just after the beginning of the second half.

“It is difficult after to react to win the game and to keep our focus all the time. Of course, we saw in the last game the importance of the fans in the stadium.”

Of course the support makes the difference when there is a balance between two teams. The Blue Army can make the difference.

It is that support from the Club’s supporters that Puel hopes will be able to push the Foxes to victory on Tuesday, although he is never surprised by their commitment in the stands.

“It is very crucial for us to give them pleasure and to make the fans happy with a good and strong game together,” he continued.

“Of course the support makes the difference when there is a balance between two teams. The Blue Army can make the difference.”
