Taggart: Set Plays Cost City

The Foxes broke the deadlock in Hertfordshire thanks to Riyad Mahrez, who netted for the fourth time in seven Premier League outings.

But former City loanee Molla Wague levelled on the stroke of half-time, before Abdoulaye Doucoure forced a Kasper Schmeichel own goal on 65 minutes.

Claude Puel’s men searched for an equaliser, but LCFC Radio summariser Taggart felt Watford did enough in the closing stages to earn all three points.

“You have to say, it’s a disappointing result,” said the former City defender. “In the first half, Leicester City were comfortable in the game.

“They probably should have gone 1-0 up before they actually did – Jamie Vardy missed a vital chance which you’d expect him to score.

“Riyad [Mahrez] put us ahead and Leicester City were comfortable, but in the end, they’ve conceded two goals from two set plays, so Claude Puel must be really pulling his hair out in that dressing room.

“From a game that they were in control of, they’ve lost. They’ve finished the game strongly but in the end, that was not enough.”

LCFC Radio will be back on air at 2pm on Saturday for City’s Premier League trip to Anfield to face Liverpool.
