The former Fleetwood Town man put in a stunning display against Manchester United in September 2014.

Manchester United at home, 5-3. It was a big win and I scored the one to put us in front. I just remember Ritchie [De Laet] getting the ball off [Juan] Mata and that was it. I was on my way and it just needed a through-ball.

Ritchie put it on a sixpence for me, I took a touch and just calmly slotted it past [David] De Gea. The stadium erupted.

Vardy celebrates with the Blue Army at the Hawthorns in 2015.

In the ‘Great Escape’ season - I just remember [Gareth] McAuley trying to shepherd the ball out of play and I’ve managed to outmuscle him and nick it off him.

I looked up and there was only really Joleon Lescott there defending so I ran at him, got half a yard onto my left and drilled it across the ‘keeper. The celebrations, I couldn’t really tell you what I was doing.

It was just the feeling that we knew we had to win and that was the winning goal. You could see what it meant to the fans as well. Everyone was going ballistic and I think my celebrations showed that as well.

Vardy capped off a landmark season with a strike against QPR.

QPR at home, I think it was the last game of the ‘Great Escape’ season. Riyad [Mahrez] has had a shot and the ‘keeper has spilled it and left me with a tap-in.

It came just after I had got my call-up for England, so it was a nice little added bonus on top of that.

Starting the 2015/16 season on a high against Sunderland.

It was the first game of the season in the year that we won the league. I remember [Marc Albrighton] putting a cross in and I’ve made a run across the near post.

I’ve managed to get a big flick-on and it’s gone all the way into the far corner. We knew that we wanted to get off to a good start. With the ‘Great Escape’ season before, we wanted to keep the momentum going and we managed to get a 4-2 win.

Vardy was central to a stirring comeback victory over Villa on Filbert Way.

Aston Villa at home in the same season. We were 2-0 down, we nicked a goal back and then Riyad has gone on a little mazy run. He passed it into Drinky [Danny Drinkwater], who has slid it across the six-yard box and I’ve managed to get there before the defender to pull us back level.

We had the momentum then and we went on to get a late goal through Nathan Dyer.

Making history against Manchester United at King Power Stadium, Vardy scored in his 11th consecutive Premier League fixture.

Making it 11 in 11. I just remember doing what we’re really good at and that’s breaking from one end of the pitch to the other in a matter of seconds.

Kasper [Schmeichel] came and claimed a ball and he threw it straight out to Christian [Fuchs], who has taken a couple of touches and, as he always tells me, fired in a no-look pass bang into my path. I’ve managed to slide it past [David] De Gea.

I celebrated knowing that I’d scored 11 in 11. I couldn’t tell you what I was doing properly, it was just spur of the moment stuff. I ran off really energetically saying it was all mine.

Victory over the champions in 2015.

Chelsea at home and Riyad was doing what he did best, cutting back and whipping a cross in with his left. He’s managed to divert it away from every single defender and straight into my run.

I’ve managed to get it on the volley first time and put it straight past [Thibaut] Courtois. Obviously, beating the champions showed what we were capable of and that we could give anyone a game and beat anyone.

A wonderful effort in a 2-0 win over the Reds.

It was a really close game. Drinky has just cleared a ball and Riyad has done well to control it with his head to start with after being put under a bit of pressure.

He’s taken a touch inside and seen me make a run and he’s hit a nice 30 or 40-yard ball over the top. It’s bounced invitingly to hit you might say, but I’d seen [Simon] Mignolet off his line quite a lot during the game so I had an effort.

I thought ‘why not go for it?’ and it’s managed to go straight into the top bin.

A maiden Foxes hat-trick against Manchester City.

My third goal against Man City at home for my first hat-trick. Riyad has gone on a run the defender has cut it out. I’ve gambled that he’s going to play a back pass to the ‘keeper and luckily for me he has.

I managed to knock it round the ‘keeper and from a very tight angle I’ve managed to sneak it in off the post thanks to goal line technology.

My 50th Premier League goal, again against Manchester United at home. The ball is played in from [Albrighton]. I’ve dropped it off to Wilf [Ndidi] who has hit a ball over the top for Riyad.

He’s sprinted onto it and defender was getting back to him. He said after that if he’d have taken a touch to try and score then the defender would have probably got it, so he’s ducked under the ball, held it up and literally waited until the very last second until I got there.

He slotted me in nicely and I’ve slotted it into the bottom corner. Obviously, getting to the 50 mark is a big achievement for myself and being the first Leicester player to do it as well is a big honour. Hopefully there’s even more to come.
