U18s Rescue Seagulls Point

Simran Thandi’s second half goal rescued a point for Leicester City’s Academy outfit during a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion at Belvior Drive on Saturday afternoon.

The young Foxes, without a victory since November, found themselves behind at the Club’s training ground after Jayden Onen’s 14th minute opener for the Seagulls.

However, Trevor Peake’s men dug deep to secure a point as Thandi latched on to a pass from Connor Tee to convert beyond visiting goalkeeper Thomas McGill in the 61st minute.

As a result, City are now sixth in the U18 Premier League South Division with 22 points from 15 matches during a campaign which has yielded six victories and four draws.

Next up, Leicester’s youngsters travel to Little Heath Sports Centre in London to face West Ham United on Saturday 10 February (12pm kick-off).
