Beaglehole Ecstatic With U23s' Response

- Beaglehole was thrilled to see his side recover from a 3-1 reverse at Swansea City this week
Josh Gordon, Sam Hughes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and George Thomas found the net for the Foxes on the south coast to confirm their place in the quarter-finals.
“That is probably one of my most pleasing displays of the season because of the situation on Monday [when City lost 3-1 at Swansea City],” Beaglehole told LCFC TV at full-time.
“I’m delighted for the lads. It’s a difficult place to come, we’ve been here on a few occasions and found it though, but I thought we were excellent for the whole game.
“We’ve played some really good football. Our fourth goal tonight epitomised that. When we’re in free-flow, it’s great to see, and we created a lot more chances in the second half.”
Despite a frustrating result on Monday, the Foxes remain top of Premier League 2 Division 1 while they also have a quarter-finals tie to look forward to.
Beaglehole was pleased to see his young squad react in a positive way to that setback in south Wales earlier this week and the Under-23s manager hopes to see further improvement.
“It’s a really good reaction from Monday,” he added. “It’s great to be a part of at the moment. Southampton have produced players in the past and hopefully we can do that too.
“We have to make sure they are capable and ready and that's what we are always trying to do.”
