A Fantastic First Fixture, Says Puel

The Foxes begin their campaign away to Manchester United on Saturday 11 August (3pm kick-off) – Puel’s first fixture at Old Trafford as City manager.

A difficult test to kick-off 2018/19, the Frenchman believes it will be an opportunity for his side to show how they are shaping up after what will no doubt be a testing few weeks of pre-season.

Puel said: “There’s always lots of excitement when the fixtures are announced and looking at our schedule for the new season, it’s certainly an exciting one for both our players and our fans.

“Travelling to Manchester United on the opening weekend certainly presents us with a challenge, but all games in the Premier League are tough and this gives us a chance to show what we are capable of against a team with great quality.”

City will then make their 2018/19 home bow against newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers a week later.

“The fixture we all look forward to is the first home game, and this season that will be against another dangerous side in Wolverhampton Wanderers, who enjoyed a fantastic season in the Championship to reach the Premier League,” added Puel.

“I know that our fans will continue to generate a wonderful atmosphere at home and away, as they always do. Their support gives the team a boost on the pitch and can help push us on.
