The Foxes faced Belgian outfit Oud-Heverlee Leuven at Belvoir Drive on Wednesday in a behind-closed-doors training match.

Choudhury, who recently enjoyed a week of training in France under manager Claude Puel, knows a series of pre-season friendlies will be of great value ahead of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Choudhury said: “I think once you get that first game out of the way you start to enjoy playing the games again.

Hamza Choudhury was one of a number of Academy graduates to join the first team in Évian this summer.

“Getting the second, third and fourth [games] and heading into the season, it gives you a good build up and run of games.

“We’ve got quite a few big games coming up after Notts County so all the boys are looking forward to just playing games.”

Choudhury, 21, believes Wednesday’s game was both a physical and mental test for the Foxes, who head to nearby Nottingham this weekend.

It’s always nice to get your first game under the belt and shake all the cobwebs off.

“It’s always nice to get your first game under the belt and shake all the cobwebs off,” Choudhury added. “Today (Wednesday) was mainly about regaining match fitness and all the boys put in a good shift.

“It makes it quite a bit harder when the teams you play have played one or two games. They’re definitely more match fit and used to playing in match situations.

“For teams that haven’t, we’re still getting used to playing in match situations again. It can be tough on your legs and mentally as well.”

City's clash with Notts County will be broadcast live on LCFC TV in for FREE.
