Frustration For Albrighton Following Cherries Loss

- Marc Albrighton says the Premier League can be an ‘unforgiving’ division following Saturday’s loss to Bournemouth
- The Foxes were defeated 4-2 at Vitality Stadium

The Foxes were 3-0 down at half-time following a double from Ryan Fraser and Joshua King’s penalty, before Wes Morgan was dismissed on 69 minutes.

Adam Smith added a fourth nine minutes from time before James Maddison and Marc Albrighton were on target for City.  

“To concede so many goals and lose in the manner we did is unacceptable,” Albrighton told LCFC TV. “We understand and realise that fans have travelled a long way to come and watch us and for us to go down like we did is not good enough.

“It’s frustrating because we were in the game. We were comfortably in the game and then all of a sudden, a couple of quick goals and you leave yourself with a mountain to climb and it’s hard to get back in the game, especially here.

“In the Premier League, it’s hard in any game once you go a goal down or two goals down. It’s always difficult to come back.

“This place especially they are strong and when they get that first goal they are very difficult to break down. We just left ourselves with too much to do.”

Albrighton says the Foxes will move on swiftly from their loss to the Cherries, with Huddersfield Town next up on Saturday 22 September (3pm BST kick-off).

He added: “I think with results like this and games like this you’ve got to put it to the back of your mind quick.

“The Premier League is an unforgiving league and you can’t dwell on things for too long. If it’s bad, you just need to let it go and crack on to the following week.”
