Pass On Plastic

LCFC Community Trust & Leicester Primary School Team Up To ‘Pass on Plastic’

Earlier this week, the LCFC Community Trust and Sparkenhoe Community Primary School officially launched the Club's ‘Pass on Plastic’ pledge.

- Leicester City legends Gerry Taggart, Matt Elliott and Steve Walsh, as well as Filbert Fox supported the event

The Premier League and Sky’s Ocean Rescue have teamed up to help teach children the simple changes everyone can make to have a positive impact on the environment and to prevent further ocean plastic pollution.

As part of its commitment to supporting this important cause, the LCFC Community Trust’s Primary Stars sessions will have ‘Pass on Plastic’ workshops in the near future.

On Monday, two Year Six classes spent their entire morning, including break time, dedicated to designing their plastic masterpieces - with one group creating a papier-mâché LCFC mural shirt.

The winning entry was an octopus-themed design.

After much deliberation, former Foxes defender and LCFC Radio star Gerry Taggart, who was joined by Steve Walsh and Matt Elliott, decided a detailed octopus design would be crowned as the most inventive creation of the day.

LCFC Community Trust Primary Stars Co-Coordinator, Emma Lowry, expressed her delight with the immediate impact of the launch.

"The 'Pass on Plastic' launch has been a great success," she said.

“The children have been really enthusiastic and are looking forward to spreading the 'Pass on Plastic' message.

Both classes have come up with some great pledges and catch phrases - it has also been fantastic to have the LCFC legends and Filbert Fox here to support the event!
